System Requirements
PART 1 – General
The following Minimum System Requirements apply to all users who access the ManageMyHealth application via www.managemyhealth.com.au or https://portal.managemyhealth.com.au/
1) Broadband Internet
- A stable, high-speed broadband internet connection is an essential requirement for accessing the ManageMyHealth website through any of the supported browsers.
- Security, Antivirus, and Firewall Requirements
- We highly recommend using a firewall to protect your workstation or system from unauthorized network access.
- We strongly suggest subscribing to a trusted antivirus solution to ensure your online protection. Be sure to keep your antivirus software up to date with the latest manufacturer updates and regularly run a full system scan at least once a week.
- It is advised to consistently apply software updates and patches to Windows and other applications to guard against security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Please ensure that the security settings, firewalls, antivirus software, or any other programs installed on your workstation, laptop, or mobile device do not interfere with the proper functioning or block access to the ManageMyHealth website.
- We recommend users use the latest version of the commercial available mainstream browsers for the best experience, performance, security and protection. We currently test the ManageMyHealth application with the following browsers and the listed versions:
a) Google Chrome (latest version)
b) Microsoft Internet Explorer (latest version – version 11.0)
c) Microsoft Edge (latest version)
d) Mozilla Firefox (version 72 or later)
e) Safari (latest version)
- If you install third party “add-ons or plug-ins” or third party “custom tool bars” for your web browser, ensure they are reliable and do not expose you to security vulnerabilities.
- Supported browsers and their versions are reviewed regularly, and the listed version numbers above may change without notice. Please refer to this page for an up-to-date list of supported web browsers and versions.
- Beta versions of the above browsers may work with ManageMyHealth but are not supported.
2) Security, Antivirus and Firewall Requirements
- We strongly recommend that you use a firewall to protect your workstation or system from unauthorised network traffic.
- We strongly recommend that you subscribe to a reputable anti-virus solution to protect yourself online. Ensure that the anti-virus solution is regularly kept up-to-date with manufacturer’s updates. Also follow recommend actions such as running a full scan of your computer at least weekly.
- We recommend that you regularly apply software updates/patches to windows and other software to protect against security and other vulnerabilities.
- Please ensure that the security profiles, firewalls, anti-virus programs or any other programs installed on the workstation, laptop or mobile device does not interfere the use of the ManageMyHealth website or block access to the ManageMyHealth web site.
3) Enable Default Browser Settings
Yes, certain browser settings may need to be enabled or adjusted to ensure smooth access to websites, including the ManageMyHealth platform. Here are some common settings you may want to check:
- Cookies:
Ensure that cookies are enabled in your browser. Many websites rely on cookies for session management, authentication, and storing preferences. Disabling cookies may prevent certain functionalities from working.
- JavaScript:
JavaScript should be enabled, as most modern websites, including web applications like ManageMyHealth, use JavaScript for interactive features and dynamic content.
- Pop-up Blockers:
If the website requires pop-ups (e.g., for notifications, forms, or other features), make sure your browser’s pop-up blocker is either disabled or configured to allow pop-ups from the website.
- Security and Privacy Settings:
Adjust security and privacy settings to allow access to trusted websites. Sometimes, overly strict settings may block certain website elements, such as forms, media, or scripts, from functioning properly.
- SSL/TLS:
Ensure that SSL (Secure Socket Layer) or TLS (Transport Layer Security) is enabled. Most modern browsers do this automatically, but it’s essential for securing communication between your browser and websites, especially those handling sensitive data.
- Third-party Content:
Some websites require content from third-party domains (such as embedded media or external services). Make sure that your browser allows third-party content when needed.
4) TLS Versions and Security Measures
ManageMyHealth ensures backward compatibility with MedTech Evolution and Artia by supporting TLS versions 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2. While versions 1.0 and 1.1 are currently enabled, additional security measures are being implemented to further protect the system. This includes whitelisting the IP address range for each health centre individually, ensuring that only authorised users can access the platform. Therefore, health canters must contact the ManageMyHealth system administrator if they switch to a different network or IP addresses to maintain secure access.
5) Time Zone Settings
Patients will be able to book appointments and view data on ManageMyHealth based on the time zone setting configured on their workstation or mobile device. Therefore, it is important for users to set the correct time zone that is most convenient for them to ensure accurate appointment scheduling and data display.
6) Payments
To utilize the payment system within ManageMyHealth, health canters are required to set up their own accounts for both offline and online payment processing, including automatic payments. To do so, health centres must reach out to the ManageMyHealth support team to initiate the account setup process. This includes configuring the internal payment system, which will enable seamless payment transactions for services. Once the accounts are established, health centres can manage payment processing and automate recurring payments for greater convenience.
7) Microsoft Office and PDF Viewer
ManageMyHealth allows users to import and export various file formats, including Word documents, CSV files, Excel spreadsheets, and PDF files. To ensure compatibility with these file types, users must have Microsoft Office or an equivalent open-source office suite (such as LibreOffice) installed on their system to handle Word, Excel, and CSV files. Additionally, a PDF viewer (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or any suitable open-source alternative) is required to view and manage PDF files. These tools are necessary to fully utilise the import and export functionalities of ManageMyHealth.
8) Requirements for Video Consultations (if applicable)
For Health Centres and Clinicians:
- We recommend Android or iOS Tablet Devices for Video Consultations. We strongly recommend a desk stand to place the tablet device, so that it does not need hand holding.
- If you have sufficient space in the workspace for a workstation or TV screen, we recommend you use the latest supported version of the Google Chrome Web Browser for Video Consultations. (Please note: that at this point in time Video Consultations are not supported on Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge Browsers)
We do not recommend and strongly discourage:
- Clinicians use of the same workstation which is running the Practice Management System to do Video Consultations. Minimising screens and browsers to do convey a professional image and can be very distracting.
- Clinicians use their mobile phone for Video Consultations. In addition to not conveying a professional image, incoming phone calls, text messages and emails will interrupt and cause distractions.
For Patients:
- Users with Android Mobile Phones or Tablets.
Recommendation to All Video Consultation Users:
- We strongly recommend all users who are using mobile phones and tablet devices to fully charge their device well in advance of the Video Consultation start time.
- Please ensure that the room you are in has sufficient light and no background noise that could disrupt the Video Consultation.
PART 2 – Applies to ManageMyHealth Mobile Devices
General advice for all ManageMyHealth mobile device users
- We recommend that users regularly apply vendor recommended (Android/Apple) software updates/patches and other software to protect against security and other vulnerabilities.
- We strongly recommend users implement a pin code to access the device. Always lock your device if leaving unattended for any period of time.
- Avoid using unsecure Wi-Fi or public Wi-Fi when logging into your ManageMyHealth account.
PART 3 – Applies to all Health Centres
These minimum system requirements apply to all health centres and health organisations that use any ManageMyHealth product. These are in addition to the requirements stated in Part 1 and Part 2:
Supported Medtech Practice Management System (PMS) Software Versions
- ManageMyHealth is fully compatible with Medtech PMS products, enabling seamless integration and usage.
- We recommend that users of Medtech PMS software always update to the latest stable version. The latest versions of Medtech Evolution and Medtech Artia can be found on the respective support websites for each product.
Medtech Practice Management System Windows Service Requirements
- To ensure proper functionality of ManageMyHealth, the Medtech PMS software at your health canter must be able to communicate with the ManageMyHealth platform.
- This communication is facilitated by a software component within your PMS, known as the ‘Medtech Service,’ which operates as a Windows service.
- The ‘Medtech Service’ is a critical component of the Medtech PMS software and is installed on the server running the PMS. It must be properly configured and functioning to enable ManageMyHealth to work as intended. Communication between Medtech PMS and ManageMyHealth should remain uninterrupted, except for planned maintenance such as upgrades or backups.
- Health centres must ensure that any other software, such as antivirus or anti-spam programs, does not block or interfere with the communication between the Medtech PMS software, the Medtech Service, and ManageMyHealth.
- Additionally, health centres need to verify that firewalls do not block or disrupt the communication between the Medtech PMS software, the Medtech Service, and ManageMyHealth. If proxy servers are in use, they must be correctly configured to ensure proper communication with ManageMyHealth.
Supported Best Practice Management System (BPMS) Software Versions
- ManageMyHealth is fully compatible with Best Practice Management System (BPMS), providing seamless integration and efficient functionality.
- We highly recommend that users of BPMS software regularly update to the latest stable version. The most recent versions of Best Practice can be accessed through their official support website.
Best Practice Management System Windows Service Requirements
- For ManageMyHealth to function optimally, the BPMS software at your health centre must establish communication with the ManageMyHealth platform.
- This communication is facilitated by a crucial component within BPMS, known as the ‘BPMS Service,’ which runs as a Windows service.
- The ‘BPMS Service’ is a vital part of the BPMS setup and is installed on the server hosting the BPMS. It must be properly configured and operational to ensure ManageMyHealth works correctly. It is important that communication between BPMS and ManageMyHealth remains uninterrupted, except during scheduled maintenance activities such as upgrades or backups.
- Health centres need to ensure that any other installed software, such as antivirus or anti-malware programs, does not interfere with or block communication between BPMS, the BPMS Service, and ManageMyHealth.
- Additionally, health centres should verify that firewalls do not block or disrupt communication between BPMS, the BPMS Service, and ManageMyHealth. If proxy servers are used, they must be properly configured to allow effective communication with ManageMyHealth.
Standalone Manage My Health
- Standalone Manage My Health allows a single service provider or a group of healthcare providers to utilize the platform for basic clinical activities without the need to set up any complex infrastructure or technical environment on their end. This option is designed for ease of use, offering a streamlined approach where providers can access and manage patient information, appointments, and other clinical tasks directly through the ManageMyHealth platform.
- With Standalone Manage My Health, there’s no need for the healthcare providers to manage servers, install software, or maintain any specialized IT systems. The platform is fully hosted and managed by the service provider, ensuring that providers can focus solely on delivering care without dealing with technical setups or maintenance. This solution is ideal for practices looking for a simple, cost-effective way to leverage digital health management tools with minimal setup and ongoing management.
